DIY Replacement G2 Filter Media Pad – for Filtered Eggcrate Grilles

Suitable for removable filter frames up to approximately 900 × 450mm

Replacement G2 polyester filter media pad for filtered eggcrate return air grilles.

Filter media is supplied as a cut pad and is trimmed to fit your existing filter frame. You must measure the removable filter frame—not the grille—before ordering.

IMPORTANT – Measure Your Filter Frame Before Ordering

DO NOT measure the grille. The grille size is not the filter frame size.

Filter grilles and their removable filter frames can vary in size. To select the correct replacement media, you need to remove and measure the actual filter frame.

How to Measure Your Filter Frame

1. Open the return air grille
   Undo the retaining screw or fastener and carefully lower the hinged face of the grille.

2. Remove the filter frame
   Take the removable filter frame completely out of the grille.

3. Measure the OUTSIDE of the filter frame
   Measure from outside edge to outside edge of the frame.

4. Measure both sides
   Record the length × width. Do not assume the frame is square.

5. Choose your replacement media
   Find your measured filter frame size and select the appropriate replacement media.

   If your exact filter frame size is not listed, select the next size up. The media is designed to be trimmed to fit your frame.

Always order from the measurements of the removable filter frame—not the dimensions of the grille, grille opening or ceiling opening.

G2 is a general-purpose filter media suitable for basic filtration in air conditioning and ventilation systems.

How to Replace Your Filter Media

1. Remove the filter frame from the return air grille.

2. Starting at one corner, carefully pull the rubber spline out of the channel around the filter frame.

3. Remove and dispose of the old filter media. Keep the rubber spline, as this can normally be reused.

4. Lay the new filter media pad over the frame.

5. Push the rubber spline back into the channel, securing the new media into the frame.

6. Trim the excess filter media around the outside of the frame using scissors.

7. Refit the completed filter frame into the return air grille and close the grille.

If your existing rubber spline has become hard, damaged or is starting to perish, replacement spline is available separately.

If you're in Christchurch, you can bring your existing filter frame into Airflow and we can replace the filter media for you.

Simply remove the complete filter frame from your grille and bring it into Airflow. We will remove the old media and fit new filter media into your existing frame.
